Compensation:
$90,000 annually
Summary
The Black Promoters Collective (BPC) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our growing finance function in the fast-paced live entertainment industry. This position plays a key role in the financial management of concerts, tours, and live events, with responsibilities spanning event-level accounting, revenue recognition, budgeting, and vendor payments.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of entertainment accounting and thrives in high-volume, deadline-driven environments. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including revenue accruals and event-specific cost allocations.
● Maintain general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closing activities.
● Prepare event settlement accounting, ensuring proper recognition of revenue and expense allocations per event.
● Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning for current and upcoming tours.
● Manage accounts payable and receivable: invoice coding, payment processing, and collections follow-up.
● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; assist with filing and reporting.
● Support audit preparation by compiling documentation and liaising with external auditors.
● Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting.
● Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
● CPA designation strongly preferred.
● Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within entertainment, music, or live events.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace; experience with QuickBooks Online required.
● Familiarity with Ticketmaster (ticketing) and PRISM (event budgeting) is a strong plus.
● Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP; exposure to IFRS a plus.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and perform complex reconciliations.
● Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
● Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
● Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed during active event tours.
Compensation & Engagement
● Annual Compensation: $90,000, based on experience.
● Opportunity to convert to full-time employment, based on performance and company needs.

Contractor Classification: This is a contractor role and does not include employee benefits. If converted to permanent employment, benefits will be outlined in the employment agreement.
